"Discovering The Mysteries in The Parables of Jesus"
A Wonderful Read!
I often receive emails from authors who would like me to consider their books. It's typical for me to reply with some variation of "Theotots is committed to promoting resources that help introduce young children to Jesus as Lord and Savior." Most resources seem to be somewhat irrelevant to that goal.
This resource, "Discovering The Mysteries In The Parables of Jesus" is relevant! This is written by someone who has a firm grasp of the gospel-to say the least. And I loved parts like where the author encouraged parents to faithfully plants the seed of Scripture in their children, trusting that the life is in the seed and the harvest WILL come in time. Consider the credentials of the author:
The author does a deep dive into the parables and encourages readers to carefully study them and not just jump to personal application points. He drops knowledge nuggets-like about "synoptic" gospels. Parables are considered in context in the life and ministry of Christ, in the Scriptures and in their socio-historical setting. I love this! As a busy mom I'm now rarely reading the sorts of books I read as a seminary instructor years ago, but this reminds me of those meaningful tomes.
You can read this on your own and pull out some main ideas for your family members as you study the parables together.
Really, I encourage you to check out "Discovering The Mysteries In The Parables of Jesus."
Enjoy!
In Jesus,
Ruth
